Who made this?
Teo Otto is a game designer + imagination guide creating in PlayGround Studio
Word Play began as an exploration of Teo’s own mind, body, language, and human experience.
The games are built around a simple idea: Each person carries a unique dictionary.
The experiences, relationships, memories, culture, bodies, environments, and knowledge that shape our lives also shape the meaning we give to things. Because no two people have the same collection of experiences, no two people play the game in the same way.
Word Play reveals the places where our thinking gathers. It reflects the language we use, how concepts are connected, and allows us to take ourselves a little more lightly.
There are opportunities to notice patterns, follow unexpected connections, and become more curious about how one word can shape our world. This fascination and exploration is the foundation for the curiosity that makes Teo so excited about sharing these games with others.
The warm-ups, grounding techniques, and body-based explorations within Word Play are influenced by theatrical and somatic practices, alongside Teo’s ongoing exploration of the mind–body connection.
PlayGround Studio is located in the Fox Park neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri.
Appointments for in person sessions, studio tours, or meetings can be booked virtually or by emailing teowordplay@gmail.com
play for a new perspective
Our world needs genius humans who are ready to be leaders, artists, free thinkers, and visionaries. Try your hand at reviewing the fundamental elements of our world, self assumptions, and thinking patterns.
Game play creates a chance to rehearse… a life lab of explorative questions, experimental movements, and playful activities. We prioritize preparation that is grounded, facilitate a space to be witnessed, and support the lightness of the experience. Most importantly, the games are FUN!
A different take on life, for ourselves or the world, cannot be created unless we dream it, imagine it, and play it.
Now is the time… BE IT!
